Google Nexus One Setting the Horizon For Smartphones

The Google Nexus One is truly setting up other smart phones to fail. While they might be trying to keep up with this beauty, they are simply no match. Google has some of the best products in every industry that it enters, search, video, and even advertising. However, the phone that Google has made is technologically superior to almost every other mobile phone on the market. It includes the same processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon that powers the iPhone.

If that fact alone is not enough to wow you, then you might want to consider what people have been saying about its performance. Many people have been waiting months for this phone to come out, and were still shocked when they were able to get it in their hands. They simply could not believe that it actually existed. 3.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen WVGA AMOLED touchscreen gives you the ability to have a super fast response rate to whatever you are doing on the screen. On average, there will only be a 1 ms delay between where you press and what will happen once you have pressed it.

While many people are amazed by touchscreen phones, they have been around for quite a while. One of the real beauties of the Nexus One is that it allows you to take stunning pictures. Phones are just beginning to have 5 megapixel cameras put into them, and the Google Nexus One has it! Not only can you take stellar stills but you can record video too! Video is captured at 720×480 pixels at 20 frames per second or higher, depending on lighting conditions. This type of video is only typically seen in mid grade cameras by themselves. It is just stunning that you are able to see this great of quality on a mobile phone.

One of the big issues that people have been encountering is the Google Nexus One’s 3G/EDGE/GSM data coverage. Many people have wanted to plug in their AT&T sim card, at least in the United States and get it to work. Just remember, that as of right now, it is not compatible with the AT&T 3G network. However, it can pick up signals from T-Mobile’s 3G network as well as other local 3G providers. This is great when you are out in the middle of nowhere and still want mobile phone service. However, if you were expecting data service everywhere, sorry, it is not yet available.

Price has been a big discussion point for many people with the Google Nexus One. Some people think that the mobile phone is over priced, while others simply cannot afford the price that Google is charging. The price that the phone is available for unlocked, without a service provider is currently over $500 USD. This is quite high for any mobile phone, but is completely unsubsidized. If you wish to get a more affordable Google Nexus One, they are available through T-Mobile at $179.99 on a two year contract.
